Berwyn, PA · formerly 30 Main

Daytime events · Berwyn, on the Main Line

We’re closed to the public before four.
Which makes the whole place yours.

Showers, corporate lunches, brunches, repast luncheons. Book a daytime event and you're not tucked into a side room while strangers watch football at the bar — you get the building.

20 guests and up From $250 Nobody else in the building

The first floor at Midtown Social set for a daytime event, a long table dressed by the windows with Lancaster Avenue and Berwyn station outside.

Why daytime is the better deal

No bar noise. No strangers. No sharing.

Most places will host your shower in a partitioned corner while the rest of the room carries on around you. Somebody's watching a game. A table of six is celebrating something loudly. Your grandmother can't hear the speeches.

We don't open to the public until four. So a daytime booking isn't a room — it's the whole building, empty except for you and our staff.

Two floors, the bar, the games, the dance floor if you want it, and the run of the place for however long you've got it. At a room hire that starts at $250.

It's the same building people pay a premium for on a Saturday night. It's just quiet at eleven in the morning.

What we host in the daytime

Twenty guests and up.

Bridal showers

The whole place, decorated your way

Bring the balloon arch, the flowers, the games, the mimosa station. Use our mirror shimmer wall and flower wall if you'd rather not source your own. Nobody's watching, and the photos come out well.

Baby showers

Somewhere grandparents can actually hear

A quiet building means conversation across a table works. Room to open gifts without an audience. And when the toddlers get restless, the games room is right there.

Corporate lunches

A private venue, not a hotel function room

Team lunches, client lunches, training days, board meetings, quarterly kickoffs. Projection on both floors, microphones, free parking, and the train directly opposite for anyone coming from the city.

Repast luncheons

After a service

A quiet, private place for a family to sit down together afterwards. No other guests, no music, no rush. We can arrange these at short notice — just call.

Brunch events

Late morning, properly done

Birthdays, engagements, christening lunches, reunions that don't want to be a late night. Buffets, stations or plated, and a bar if you want one.

Anything else

Committees, clubs, fundraisers

Association lunches, charity events, school committees, retirement lunches, christening parties. If it's twenty people in the daytime, ask.

Repast luncheons

If you’re arranging one of these, a note.

We know you're not shopping around, and you probably don't want to be reading a website at all.

Call 610-220-2367 and tell us the day and roughly how many. We'll handle the rest — the room, the food, the setting up and the clearing away. The building is closed to the public, so it will be just your family.

We can usually arrange these at short notice. There's no minimum spend conversation to have first, and nobody will chase you.

What comes with it

All of it’s already here.

The food

One kitchen, one contract

We're the venue and the caterer. Buffets, plated lunches, stations, grazing tables, dessert. 142 items, vegetarian and vegan throughout.

The drinks

Or none at all

Full bar, beer and wine only, a mimosa or bloody mary station, or coffee and soft drinks and nothing else. Entirely your call.

The room

Laid out for what you're doing

Long table, rounds, cocktail height, or cleared for mingling. Tell us the shape of the day and we'll set it that way.

The AV

Screens and microphones

Projection on both floors for a slideshow or a presentation, microphones for speeches. Send it ahead and we'll test it.

Decorating

Bring whatever you like

No cakeage fee. Balloons, flowers, favours, a photo wall. Set-up access arranged with your date — and with nobody else in, you can take your time.

Getting here

Free parking, train opposite

A free lot behind the building, more within three minutes, and Berwyn station directly across Lancaster Avenue. Easy for guests travelling in.

The first floor is fully wheelchair accessible and holds up to 200. Midtown Hall upstairs is reached by stairs only. Tell us at the start if anyone needs step-free access and we'll plan the ground floor.

Straight answers

The things people ask.

Are you open for lunch normally?

No. We open to the public at 4 PM, Tuesday to Saturday. Daytime is kept for private events — which is exactly why a daytime booking gets you the whole building instead of a corner of it.

What does a daytime event cost?

Room hire starts at $250. The rest depends on the day, the headcount and what you want served. Tell us those three things and you'll get a real number back, usually within a business day.

Do we really get the whole building?

For a daytime booking, yes — there's nobody else in. How much of it you use is up to you. Most groups of twenty to forty take the first floor and leave the upstairs alone, but the door isn't locked.

Which days can we do?

Seven days a week. Sundays and Mondays we're closed entirely, so those are wide open. Tuesday to Saturday works too as long as the room is cleared before we open at four.

How long do we get?

Agreed with your booking. Most daytime events run three to four hours. If you need longer, say so — there's more room to be flexible in the daytime than on a Saturday night.

Can children come?

Of course, and at a private event there's no time restriction. The kids menu is real food, and the pool tables, shuffleboard and ping pong keep older ones occupied while the adults talk.

What if there are fewer than twenty of us?

Private daytime bookings start at twenty. Below that, call 610-220-2367 — we may still be able to help, particularly for a repast.

Parking, properly answered

Yes — and enough of it for a full room.

The question every host asks, so here's the real answer rather than “free parking available.”

Our lot — 0 minutes

Behind the building, first right off Main Avenue. Free. Fills first.

Berwyn station — 2 minutes

140 spaces, both sides of the tracks. Free after 5 PM and all weekend — this is the one that absorbs a big group.

Trinity Church — 3 minutes

Top of the hill on Main Avenue, past the stop sign. Free.

Street & nearby

Lancaster Avenue and the side streets, plus additional parking behind the old Malvern Federal building. Please don't park in front of the houses on Main Avenue.

Free lots and street parking all within three minutes. Between them there's room for a full building — it's the reason we can host 500 people without a parking problem. For a big event we'll point your guests at the station lot, which has the space.

Valet is available for large private events. Ask when you book and we'll arrange it, with signage and staff directing your guests to the right lot. It doesn't run on ordinary nights.

And Berwyn station is directly across Lancaster Avenue on the Paoli/Thorndale line — genuinely useful at an event with an open bar. Full parking detail and directions.

Next step

Tell us the day and the number.

That's all we need to come back with availability, a layout and a real figure. No deposit to ask, and a person replies — usually within one business day.
