Birthday parties · Berwyn, on the Main Line

It's your birthday.
Don't spend it organising.

Dinner, drinks, a dance floor, pool tables, a DJ and a cake table — all in one building, all run by us. And we're open late on Fridays and Saturdays, so when everywhere else is stacking chairs, nobody has to work out where to go next.

And if it's just dinner: bring a table of four or more and the birthday guest eats free, up to $40 — any time in the five days either side of your birthday.

Birthday offer

It's your birthday. You eat free.

Come in with a table of four or more and the birthday guest's food is on us — up to $40.

4+ At the table

Bring three friends, or thirty. Four is the minimum.

$40 On your food

Order what you actually want. We'll take up to $40 of it off the check.

±5 Days either side

Five days before your birthday, five days after. Pick a night that suits everyone.

And you've got eleven days. Use it any time within the five days either side of your birthday — so you're not stuck coming on the actual day when everyone already has plans.

The small print, up front: food only, up to $40. ID required — we just need to see the date. No cash value, no change given. Can't be combined with happy hour or any other offer or discount. Not valid on private events. Tell your server when you sit down.

Why here

Everything the night needs is already in the building.

Most birthday plans fall apart in the gaps. Dinner at one place, drinks at another, and by half past ten half the group has gone home because the next bit was too much effort.

Here there are no gaps. Eat, drink, play pool, dance, cut the cake and keep going — same building, same night, nobody driving anywhere in between.

And because we're open late Friday and Saturday, the party ends when you decide it does rather than when somebody turns the lights on.

All of it, under one roof

What you'd otherwise be booking separately.

The food

A real kitchen, not a buffet company

Buffets, plated dinners, carving stations, passed hors d'oeuvres, grazing tables. Ribeye, jumbo lump crab cake, fresh pappardelle. 142 items to choose from, with vegetarian and vegan in every section.

The bar

Set it up however you like

Open bar, consumption bar, drink tickets, beer and wine only, or cash bar. Tell us the budget and we'll tell you which one fits. Ten signature cocktails on the list.

The music

DJ, band, or your own playlist

Bring your own, use one of ours, or just plug a phone into the house system — that costs nothing extra. Midtown Hall has a stage, professional sound and truss lighting.

The dancing

Two dance floors

One downstairs in the lounge, an LED floor upstairs in the Hall. Neither is a cleared-away dining room. If dancing is the point of the night, say so and we'll lay the room out for it.

The rest of it

Pool, shuffleboard, darts, ping pong

The thing that saves a party when not everyone dances. Uncles play pool. Teenagers play ping pong. Everybody's occupied and nobody's checking their phone.

The photos

A backdrop that's already up

Mirror shimmer wall, flower wall, neon signs. Or bring your own balloon arch — plenty of people do. Either way, the photos come out well and they end up on Instagram.

Pick your size

Twenty people, or five hundred.

Five spaces across two floors. Tell us the headcount and we'll tell you which one fits — and we'll say if a smaller room would feel better than a big one half empty.

Fewer than twenty? Private bookings start at twenty guests — but that doesn't mean we can't look after you. Call 610-220-2367 and tell us the date and what you're celebrating.

We'll tell you what's on that night, hold you the right table or a corner of the lounge, and sort the cake and anything else you need. A birthday for eight is still a birthday.

Whatever the number on the cake says

We've done all of these.

  • Kids' parties
  • Sweet 16
  • Quinceañera
  • 18th
  • 21st
  • 30th
  • 40th
  • 50th
  • 60th
  • 70th
  • 80th & beyond
  • Surprise parties
  • Joint birthdays
  • Birthday brunches

Under 21s are welcome

At a private event, any hour. The usual 10 PM rule is for normal opening, not your party — so a sixteenth or an eighteenth works exactly like any other booking, and grandparents can stay as late as the teenagers.

Surprise parties, done properly

Tell us it's a surprise and we'll handle the arrival — where to hold everyone, when to bring them through, who watches the door. We've done enough of these to know the timing matters more than the decorations.

How it works

Four steps, and we do most of them.

Tell us the date

And roughly how many. That's enough for us to say what's free and which room suits it. A phone call does this in five minutes.

We send you a plan

The room, a menu to react to, bar options and a real number. Not a brochure — something you can say yes or no to.

Change your mind

Guest counts move. Menus change. Somebody develops an allergy. Tell us and we'll adjust — that's normal, not a problem.

Turn up to your own party

We set the room, run the food, run the bar and clear it all afterwards. You bring the cake and the people.

Straight answers

The things people ask.

What does it cost?

Room hire starts at $250 for The Lounge. After that it depends on the room, the day, the headcount and what you want served — which is why we quote rather than publish a price list that would be wrong for most people. Tell us the date and the number and you'll get a real figure back.

How late can we go?

The bar runs to 2 AM Friday and Saturday, and the kitchen keeps sending food out well after most kitchens have closed. That's the whole point — you don't have to move the party somewhere else at ten o'clock.

Last entry is 1 AM, so latecomers need to be here by then — but everyone already inside can stay until we close at 2 AM.

Tell us how late you're planning and we'll confirm the finish time for your date.

Can we bring our own cake?

Yes, and there's no cakeage fee. Bring it from anywhere. We'll keep it somewhere sensible, set up a cake table, and bring it out when you want it.

Can we decorate?

Yes. Balloons, banners, photo walls, table settings — whatever you like. Set-up access gets arranged with your date. We also have a mirror shimmer wall, a flower wall and neon signs in-house if you'd rather not source your own.

Can under 21s come?

Yes, at any hour. The rule about under 21s leaving at 10 PM applies to normal public opening, not private events. A sweet sixteen or an eighteenth works like any other booking.

Do you do children's parties?

Yes. Daytime bookings work well for these — the building is quiet, the games are free to use, and the kids menu is real food rather than an afterthought. Ask about a daytime slot.

Can we have a DJ or a band?

Both, or neither. Bring your own, use someone we recommend, or plug your own playlist into the house system at no cost. More on entertainment.

Someone in the group can't manage stairs.

Then book downstairs. The first floor is fully wheelchair accessible and holds up to 200. Midtown Hall upstairs is reached by stairs only, with no lift — so if anyone in your group needs step-free access, tell us at the start and we'll put you on the ground floor.

Do I really eat free on my birthday?

Yes — bring a table of four or more and your food is on us, up to $40. And you don't have to come on the actual day: it's good for the five days either side of your birthday.

Food only, ID required so we can see the date. No cash value, no change given. It can't be combined with happy hour or any other offer, and it doesn't apply to private events — those already come with a room, a menu and a bar package.

What if there are only eight of us?

Private bookings start at twenty, but call us anyway — 610-220-2367. We'll tell you what's on that night, hold you a good table or a corner of the lounge, and sort the cake. A birthday for eight is still a birthday.

How far ahead should we book?

For a Friday or Saturday, as early as you can — those go first, and November and December go in September. Midweek and daytime are usually available at shorter notice. It costs nothing to ask about a date.

Come to us directly

You’ll get a faster answer, and a better one.

Plenty of sites will take your event enquiry and pass it on. We'd rather you just told us.

When you contact us here, you're talking to the family who runs the building — not a lead form that lands in five venues' inboxes at once. You get a real answer about your actual date, usually within a business day, from someone who knows whether the room works for what you're planning.

Call 610-220-2367 or send us the date. That's the fastest route to a real number.

Parking, properly answered

Yes — and enough of it for a full room.

The question every host asks, so here's the real answer rather than “free parking available.”

Our lot — 0 minutes

Behind the building, first right off Main Avenue. Free. Fills first.

Malvern Federal — 1 minute

First left on Main Avenue. Free, and usually open in the evening.

Berwyn station — 2 minutes

140 spaces, both sides of the tracks. Free after 5 PM and all weekend — this is the one that absorbs a big group.

Trinity Church — 3 minutes

Top of the hill on Main Avenue, past the stop sign. Free.

Free lots and street parking all within three minutes. Between them there's room for a full building — it's the reason we can host 500 people without a parking problem. For a big event we'll point your guests at the station lot, which has the space.

Valet is available for large private events. Ask when you book and we'll arrange it, with signage and staff directing your guests to the right lot. It doesn't run on ordinary nights.

And Berwyn station is directly across Lancaster Avenue on the Paoli/Thorndale line — genuinely useful at an event with an open bar. Full parking detail and directions.

Next step

Tell us the date and the number.

That's all we need to tell you what's free, which room fits, and what it would cost. No deposit to ask, and a person replies — usually within one business day.

Or see every other occasion we host.
