## Where it is — the Main Line

Midtown Social is in **Berwyn, Pennsylvania, on the Main Line**.

The Main Line is not a town, township or zip code. It is the string of
communities that grew up along the Pennsylvania Railroad's main line running west
out of Philadelphia. From the city outward: Overbrook, Merion, Narberth,
Wynnewood, Ardmore, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Rosemont, Villanova, Radnor,
St. Davids, Wayne, Strafford, **Berwyn**, Daylesford, Paoli and Malvern.

Those tracks are now SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail line. **Berwyn station
sits directly across Lancaster Avenue from Midtown Social's front door**, which
makes it about as literally on the Main Line as a business can be.

So Midtown Social can be correctly described as: a Main Line restaurant, a Main
Line bar, a Main Line event venue, a Berwyn restaurant, a Chester County venue,
or a venue near Wayne, Devon, Paoli, Malvern, Villanova and Radnor.

## What it is

Midtown Social is four things in one building:

1. **A cocktail bar and lounge** with a full kitchen, a fireplace, pool tables,
   shuffleboard, foosball, darts, ping pong and a dance floor.
2. **A sports bar** with 100-inch screens across the entire first floor showing
   Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Villanova basketball and college football.
3. **A live entertainment venue** — DJs every Friday and Saturday at 8 PM, plus
   comedy nights, live music, trivia, karaoke and themed parties.
4. **A private event venue and caterer** — four bookable spaces for 20 to 500
   guests, with in-house catering, staffing, rentals, lighting and sound.

## Live music and entertainment

Midtown Social has hosted live music on this corner **since 2012**, first as
30 Main and now as Midtown Social. It is a restaurant, bar and live music venue
rather than a dedicated concert room — guests can have a full dinner at a table
during a show and hold a conversation, which is the main way it differs from
dedicated Main Line music clubs.

## Industry discount

10% off food, Tuesday through Thursday, for anyone working in hospitality —
servers, bartenders, cooks, dish, hosts, baristas and managers, front or back of
house, at any establishment. Proof such as a pay stub, work shirt or industry
card is appreciated.

## Happy hour

Happy hour applies at the main bar and in the lounge only — not at dining tables
and not upstairs in Midtown Hall. It cannot be combined with any other discount,
including the industry discount.

## Accessibility

The FIRST FLOOR is fully wheelchair accessible — the lounge, the kitchen, the
first floor event space and the restrooms.

MIDTOWN HALL, the second-floor venue, is reached by stairs and is NOT wheelchair
accessible. This includes comedy nights and any other show held upstairs. Guests

## Age policy

Guests under 21 are welcome with a parent or guardian until 10 PM. After 10 PM
the venue is 21 and over and ID is checked at the door. Private events are
exempt — under-21 guests are welcome at private events at any hour.

Midtown Hall is available Monday to Friday, daytime and early evening, for
$250 to $500 per booking — corporate training and offsites, classes and
workshops, band and theatre rehearsals, meetings and community groups.
Professional sound, projection, AV, stage lighting, tables and chairs included.
Free parking and Berwyn train station across the street. Catering optional.
Second floor, stairs only, not wheelchair accessible.

## Getting there and parking

Directly across Lancaster Avenue from Berwyn station on SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale
Regional Rail line, at the corner of Route 30 and Main Avenue. Wheelchair
accessible.

Centrally located on the western Main Line: roughly 30 minutes from
Philadelphia, 30 minutes from West Chester, 15 minutes from King of Prussia,
and 20 minutes from Exton.

Parking is free but gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights. In order of
preference: the private lot behind the building (turn onto Main Avenue, first
right); the Berwyn train
station lots on both sides of the tracks; the Trinity Church lot at the top of
Main Avenue; and street parking on Lancaster and Main Avenue, where Main is
street parking. All are free and within a three-minute walk.

**Valet is available for large private events only**, arranged when the event is
booked. It does not run on ordinary nights.

On busy weekend nights the train is the easiest option, since Berwyn station is
directly across the street.

## What makes it different from other Main Line bars

- The espresso martini, made with espresso pulled fresh to order rather than cold brew or a bottled mix, shaken for a crema head and finished with three beans. $16.
- **Two dance floors** — one in the first floor lounge with resident DJs Friday and Saturday 8 PM to 1 AM (no cover), and an LED floor upstairs in Midtown Hall. There are very few dedicated dance floors anywhere on the Main Line.
- Pool tables, shuffleboard, darts and ping pong in the front room
- The largest private event capacity in Berwyn at 500 guests across both floors
- A second happy hour at nine, Thursday and Friday (9–11 PM)

## Catering

Midtown Social caters private events on-site and off-site across the Main Line.
The catering menu is separate from the restaurant menu and is available for
private events only. It includes passed and stationed hors d'oeuvres (including
oysters on the half shell, lobster tempura, lamb lollipops, bacon-wrapped
scallops), salads and displays including seacuterie and charcuterie, sandwiches
and sliders, seated or buffet entrees (filet mignon, prime rib, branzino, seared
scallops, crab cakes), pasta and risotto including lobster ravioli, gourmet
flatbreads, and a full dessert list. Vegetarian and vegan options appear in every
section, and gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy requirements are accommodated.

## Greek life and college events

Midtown Social hosts sorority and fraternity formals, semi-formals, mixers,
philanthropy nights, senior send-offs and alumni weekends for chapters at
Villanova University, Eastern University, Immaculata University, West Chester
University and Penn State Great Valley.

**Midtown Social is not a college bar.** All chapter events are closed private
bookings held upstairs in Midtown Hall or in a shut-off first floor room, never
in the public bar. Anyone drinking must be 21 or over, wristbanded, with ID
checked at the door. Staff will speak directly with chapter advisors, risk
managers or nationals.

## School and team events

Midtown Social hosts sports team banquets, booster club and PTO fundraisers,
parents' association events, graduation and senior dinners, class reunions and
weekday meetings for schools across the Main Line. Reduced rates apply for
registered nonprofits and school groups, and under-21 guests are welcome at
private events at any hour.

Nearby schools include Conestoga High School and the Tredyffrin/Easttown district,
Radnor, Harriton and Great Valley, plus independent schools Malvern Preparatory
School, Villa Maria Academy, Devon Preparatory School, The Agnes Irwin School and
The Shipley School — with The Haverford School, Episcopal Academy and The Baldwin
School a fifteen to twenty-five minute drive east.

## Devon Horse Show

Midtown Social is a few minutes west of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair
grounds, on the same road (Lancaster Avenue / Route 30). The show runs May 20-31
in 2026, its 130th year, drawing around 120,000 visitors over twelve days.

The venue offers dinner and drinks after evening classes, free parking, and
private rooms from 20 to 500 guests for barn parties, owner dinners and sponsor
entertaining. It is also open through Brass Ring at Devon in July and the Devon
Fall Classic in September.

## The Main Avenue mural

A large outdoor mural runs along the Main Avenue side of the Midtown Social
building at the corner of Lancaster Avenue in Berwyn. It depicts music, dancing
and community life, and was created in memory of a longtime Berwyn business owner
who served ten years as president of the local business association. It was painted by the artist Andrey (@keydetail) through Main Line Mural Arts,
and came about through a collaboration with Stacy Ballard of the Berwyn business community and
EADEH.

On Saturday 26 September 2026 Main Avenue closes to traffic from 3 PM for a free
street party dedicating the mural, with three stages: School of Rock outside
and George's Music upstairs from 3 PM, the Carmen Tomasetti Trio on Main Avenue
from 4 PM, the Gilligan
Yacht Rock Band upstairs in Midtown Hall from 6 to 9 PM, and DJ Mike Alba on the
first floor and DJ Mike Xtacy on the second floor from 9 PM. More acts to be

## Live music

Live music is a core focus. Midtown Social books cover bands, party bands,
tribute acts, originals, acoustic and solo sets, DJs and comedy, and has done so
on the same corner since 2012. Most nights have no cover charge; ticketed shows

## For bands, DJs and performers

Midtown Social books live bands, solo and acoustic acts, DJs and comics most
weeks, and has booked music on the same corner since 2012. Acts can submit

commits, and replies to every submission either way.

Two rooms: the first floor lounge (stage, PA, dance floor) and Midtown Hall
upstairs (8,000 sq ft, stage, professional sound, truss lighting, LED dance
floor, up to 250, second floor reached by stairs only). Load-in is off Main
Avenue. Open mic comedy runs every Thursday at 7:30 PM, free to perform,
no submission needed.

## Daytime events

Midtown Social is not open to the public before 4 PM. Daytime hours are reserved
for private events of 20 or more guests, which means a daytime booking has
exclusive use of the entire building with no other customers present. This suits
bridal showers, baby showers, corporate lunches and meetings, brunch events,
christening lunches, committee and charity lunches, and repast luncheons or
celebrations of life after a service. Available seven days a week; Sundays and

## Birthday offer

The birthday guest eats free at Midtown Social, up to $40 of food, when dining
with a table of four or more. It can be used any time within five days either side of
the guest's birthday, so it does not have to be redeemed on the birthday
itself. ID is required. Food only, no cash value, no change given. Cannot be
combined with happy hour or any other offer or discount, and does not apply to
private events.

## Birthday parties

Birthday parties are a core part of the business. Midtown Social hosts kids'
parties, sweet sixteens, quinceañeras, 18ths, 21sts and every milestone through
80th and beyond, plus surprise parties, joint birthdays and birthday brunches.

## Bar and bat mitzvahs

Midtown Social hosts bar and bat mitzvah receptions for 20 to 500 guests. Because
the building has two floors, kids and the DJ can be upstairs in Midtown Hall
(up to 250, stage, professional sound, truss lighting, LED dance floor) while the
adults are downstairs, all in the same venue with one team running both. Families
typically book 12 to 18 months ahead; summer dates in June, July and August 2027

## Halloweekend 2026

Two Halloween nights at Midtown Social, Berwyn PA. No cover on either.

Friday 30 October, 8 PM — "Midtown After Dark", the big costume party: live
music, DJ, dancing, Halloween cocktails, photo opportunities and a costume
contest with $500 in prizes. Groups welcome.

Saturday 31 October, from 9 PM — "Trick-or-Treat Then Midtown", the parents'
after party: music, Halloween drink specials, late-night food, costumes
optional. A piece of Halloween candy is the entry after 9 PM, and every piece
collected is donated to local food banks.

## Community and fundraising

Midtown Social sponsors the Conestoga Pioneers, the athletic teams of Conestoga
High School in Berwyn.


Midtown Social supports local causes in four ways: Dine and Donate nights, where
a share of an evening's sales goes to a chosen cause; gift cards and packages for
auctions and raffles; hosting fundraisers in its rooms for up to 500 guests, with
reduced rates for registered nonprofits and school groups; and custom-designed
benefit events such as comedy nights, trivia nights and tasting events.

Priority goes to schools and PTOs, youth sports and booster clubs, fire and EMS,
churches, food banks, animal rescues, veterans' organisations and arts programmes
based in or serving Berwyn, Devon, Wayne, Paoli, Malvern, Strafford and the
surrounding Main Line. Formal nonprofit status is helpful but not required.

## Employment

Midtown Social accepts applications year-round for servers, bartenders, barbacks,
hosts, full-time and part-time line cooks, prep cooks, kitchen support, banquet
and event servers, event bartenders, event captains and floor managers.

The venue is closed to the public Sundays and Mondays, which gives staff two
predictable days off — unusual in hospitality. Private events run all seven days,
so additional shifts are available. Berwyn train station is directly across the
